Pakistan will play New Zealand in the second Test match at Dubai on Monday. New Zealand were convincingly hammered in the first Test, and they’ll look to at least put up a more competitive performance in the second Test. Younis Khan and Misbah-ul Haq, once again shone with the bat and their great form will be a concern for the Kiwi bowlers.

Earlier in the first match at Abu Dhabi, Pakistan continued their dominating approach as they squared out New Zealand by 248 runs to win the first Test played at Abu Dhabi. Interestingly, Pakistan declared in both their innings and set a 480-run target but New Zealand was squashed at 231. Out of the 231 runs New Zealand gathered in their second innings, 115 runs were contributed from their last four batsmen. With this victory at Abu Dhabi, Misbah-ul-Haq also became the most successful captain to lead Pakistan in Tests.

New Zealand have been left behind in all departments of the game be it batting, bowling or fielding. Pakistan have exposed all the shades of the Kiwis and also issued a big warning before the ICC World Cup 2015. The Kiwi bowlers bowled 170.5 overs in the first innings of the last Test but only managed to pick three wickets. The bowling performance in the second innings was no better. Shockingly, the Tim Southee and Trent Boult went wicketless. These two bowlers need to bring in all their experience into play at Dubai.

Squads:

New Zealand: Brendon McCullum (c), BJ Watling (wk), Kane Williamson, Luke Ronchi (wk), Tim Southee, Ross Taylor,  Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, James Neesham, Hamish Rutherford, Ish Sodhi, Neil Wagner, Doug Bracewell, Mark Craig, Tom Latham.

Pakistan: Misbah-ul-Haq (c), Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar, Ahmed Shehzad, Younis Khan, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Ehsan Adil, Haris Sohail, Taufeeq Umar, Imran Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Talha, Rahat Ali, Shan Masood.
