Five Pakistani Players under Notice for Shooting Commercial without Permission

Five Pakistani players are now under the notice of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) due to shooting of Haier products commercial without permission of PCB. The five Pakistani Players including Pakistani All-rounder and Captain of T20 team Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Anwar Ali, Fawad Alam and Muhammad Irfan. A spokesman of the board said the show cause notices were issued as the players had violated the terms of their central contracts that clearly state they could not participate in any commercial activity without permission of the board. An official of the board said that Haier was only title sponsors of the series and domestic cricket but players had to seek clearance to promote their products. The official said the board would wait for seven days for their explanations and then decide on the future course of action. After seven days and explanation of officials PCB would take the final decision which may cause punishment of not playing in few matches. Pakistani All-rounder and Captain of T20 Shahid Afridi recently announced the retirement from one-day internationals after the World Cup 2015 which may also reduce Afridi few One-Day games.
