Rahat Ali To Replace Junaid Khan for World Cup Squad

Pakistan left-arm fast-medium bowler Rahat Ali is to replace injured Junaid Khan for 2015 Cricket World Cup in Pakistan squad.

He made his debut with the one-day squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in 2012.

The selection of Ali, who has played only one ODI in a seven-year List A career and no international game since the Sharjah Test against New Zealand in November, was approved by PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan on the recommendation of chief selector Moin Khan. (ESPN CricInfo).

Fast bowler Junaid Khan was ruled out of the World Cup after he failed to pass his fitness test. Junaid had suffered a hamstring injury in his right leg after he slipped and fell while bowling during the third day of the national training camp at the Gaddafi Stadium before Pakistan’s departure for New Zealand. Junaid was one of the senior bowlers in Pakistan’s pace attack, which includes Moham¬mad Irfan, Wahab Riaz, and up-and-coming Ehsan Adil.
