The Heritage hotel in Auckland has barred media from entering the hotel under any circumstances. Stu Mason, the hotel security manager, told the media outside just now that they can’t enter even to have coffee or dinner. They tried to stop media from shooting outside also.
Security manager says this is from the instructions of the media manager Dr RN Baba and team director Ravi Shastri.
This is worse than what was the case in cities before this. One journalist was told that if he enters again he will be issued a trespass notice.
Virat Kohli gets BCCI stick for abusing journalist
Virat Kohli, was accused of abusing BCCI’s journalist in what the star batsman claimed was a case of mistaken identity.
The Team India management and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided against Kohli apologising personally to journalist Jaswinder Sidhu, but the BCCI on Thursday issued a statement reprimanding the cricketer. “The player in question has been told to maintain the dignity of the Indian team at all times, and avoid any such behaviour in the future,” it said.
“The BCCI would like to request the concerned parties to move on, and focus on the Indian cricket team’s campaign in the ongoing ICC CWC 2015,” the statement added.
